Ascending for Photography // 2020

Ascending and fixed line rigging are used extensively for photographing at height. Join us to learn about belay device types and proper operation, types of ropes, anchors, rigging a fixed line, ascending off the ground, and hanging for photography. Feel free to bring your camera with a hefty strap for the ascending clinic, there may be a chance to put it all together for a photography session! This will be held in the Seattle area.
*Note: this is a rigging skills class only. Composition is not covered in this class.

Tuition:  $140 - 180 (sliding scale)
Prerequisites: 
  • Took Climbers of Color’s Intro to Sport Leading
  • Took Climbers of Color’s Rappelling Flash Clinic
OR
  • Took Climbers of Color’s Rappelling Flash Clinic
  • Familiarity with various sport climbing anchor
  • Able to top rope a 5.8 clean
  • Knows how to tie oneself in to the rope for climbing
  • Uses a belay device properly for toprope belaying

  • Actively rappels on routes
  • Familiarity with various climbing anchors
  • Able to top rope a 5.8 clean
