Intro to Routesetting // 2021

The art of routesetting is one of the most exciting aspects of indoor climbing, and we would like to share this experience with aspiring setters. This introductory clinic provides a glimpse into the setting process, and also gives students a chance to set their own boulder problems. Participants will learn the intricacies of setting, how to articulate movement, and the forerunning process. This class will consist of one full day at the Seattle Mountaineers. Maximum of 4 participants.

Dates:  Sep 4th Sat 10am-4pm

Location: The Mountaineers Headquarters, Seattle, WA

Tuition:  $180 - 220 (sliding scale, scholarships available)

Prerequisites: ​1 year experience climbing (bouldering or sport)

Student Equipment: ​

  • Rock climbing shoes

  • Approach style shoes

  • Chalk bag/bucket

Note: Power tools will not be utilized in this class - only hand tools including wrenches and ratchet.
