Flash Clinic: Hauling for Routesetting // 2021

Flash clinics are 4 hour workshops focusing on one climbing topic or skill.

The art of routesetting is one of the most exciting aspects of indoor climbing. Take our Hauling for Routesetting to review ascending ropes and hauling gear to set routes for sport climbing. Actual routesetting will not be covered, for setting routes take our Intro to Routesetting.  This class will consist of one evening at the Seattle Mountaineers.

Application:  OPEN 

Dates:  Sep 3rd Fri 5-9pm

Location: The Mountaineers Headquarters, Seattle, WA

Tuition:  $80-120 (sliding scale, scholarships available)

Prerequisites: 

  • Took Climbers of Color's Ascending and Fixed Line Course for Photography Course

 OR

  • Knowledge of how to ascend with a Grigri, ascender, and carabiner (3:1 ascending system)

Required Equipment: 

  • Climbing harness

  • Approach type shoes

  • At least 2, 120mm slings (Dyneema or Nylon)

  • At least two locking carabiners

  • Cordelette

 

Note: Power tools will not be utilized in this class - only hand tools including wrenches and ratchet.
