Flash Clinic: Rapelling // 2020

Rappelling is an essential skill for cleaning routes (aka collecting your toprope gear after climbing a route). Join us to learn about belay device types and proper operation, types of ropes, anchors, rappelling, and troubleshooting stuck items in a belay device. 
 

*Note: clinics are small clinics of up to 4 hours focusing on one climbing topic or skill. Flash clinics will be held in Seattle.

Sunday, September 13th (3 hour slots)
  • 8 - 11AM
  • 11:30 AM - 2:30 PM
  • 3:30 - 6:30 PM
Location: The Mountaineers Headquarters, Seattle, WA
Tuition:  $80 - 120 (sliding scale)
Prerequisites: 
  • Familiarity with various climbing anchor systems
  • Able to top rope a 5.8 clean
  • Knows how to tie oneself in to the rope for climbing
  • Uses a belay device properly for toprope belaying
