Avalanche Awareness 

Regardless of your mode of travel (snowshoe, ski, snowboard, or splitboard), recognition of avalanche danger is an essential and potentially lifesaving skill. This introductory virtual class provides a basic approach to managing risk. These individual 90-minute sessions will explain how to access avalanche and mountain weather forecasts on the NWAC website and recognize basic signs of avalanche danger.

Avalanche awareness classes will be free to the Climbers of Color community throughout the forecast area that is covered by NWAC. These classes are an introductory presentation geared towards the novice wintertime user recreating in or near backcountry terrain.
